Resorts World Las Vegas, the first new integrated resort to be built on the Las Vegas Strip in more than a decade swung open its doors with a celebratory, star-studded event. The highly anticipated occasion kicked off with a private, first-look party for invited guests with a spectacular poolside celebration and extravagant firework show. VIPs and celebrities from the likes of Kendall Jenner, Kris Jenner, Paris Hilton, Usher and Steve Aoki joined to commemorate the historic celebration.

Katy Perry, one of the founding headliners at The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, virtually led guests in the final countdown to the property’s opening. Perry’s video message was broadcast on the 100,000 square foot West Tower LED screen – one of the largest in the U.S. – followed by a firework display that lit up the Las Vegas skyline.

Prior to the countdown, Genting Chairman & CEO K.T. Lim, Resorts World Las Vegas President Scott Sibella, Hilton President & CEO Chris Nassetta, U.S. Congresswoman Dina Titus, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak, Clark County Commission Chair Marilyn Kirkpatrick, and Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom hosted an official ribbon cutting ceremony for invited guests. The event concluded with a festive ceremonial dragon dance and lion blessing led by a parade of dancers and Taiko drummers who guided guests into the casino and throughout the resort as each venue along the way received an auspicious blessing.

The lavish festivities continued throughout the evening as Vegas residents, VIPs, and celebrities experienced many of the property’s outstanding amenities including delicious food, refreshing beverages, spectacular architecture and more. Guests were surprised with celebrity DJ performances by resident DJ Tiësto, Paris Hilton and René-Charles Angélil, among other live entertainment.

Earlier in the evening, anticipation for the official opening of the doors grew during a celebratory block party alongside Las Vegas Boulevard on the resort’s outdoor plaza where public guests were entertained with a DJ set by popular artist and social media influencer Charly Jordan.

Some highlights of the celebration included: Paris Hilton performed a DJ set right before the property officially opened to the public. To kick off the set, she played “Piece of Me,” dedicating it to Britney Spears.  Kendall Jenner hosted an intimate gathering at the resort’s VIP pool where guests sipped 818 Tequila, Steve Aoki celebrated the opening of his restaurant Kuru Kuru Pa Yakitori with brother Kevin Aoki.  Usher visited the Hilton family’s private cabana and Tiësto, the Resorts World Las Vegas resident DJ, performed a set as the property officially opened up to the public.
