Breck Wall – It is with sadness to write that long time Las Vegas Entertainer/Producer Breck Wall passed away this morning. Breck was best known for his popular show Bottoms Up which by some records was the second longest running show in Las Vegas (next to Follies Bergere), and which would make him the longest running entertainer on the strip – sorry F.M., but by some accounts, you are third or fourth down the line. Besides Bottoms Up, Breck along with his business partner Patrick Maes produced over 30 other shows in Las Vegas, Reno, Tahoe, Branson, and toured internationally. Some of you might remember – Passion, Aireus, Rage, Dazzle Dance, Jubilation – and a host of others. Facebook is burning up today with people all across the country posting their memories of this comic genius.

Breck was also best friends with Jack Ruby and at one time was named in the President Kennedy assassination. Breck was later cleared in any involvement, but can be seen in several History Channel documentaries that deal with the entire Kennedy assassination scenario. Breck was dear friends with Sammy Davis Jr, Johnny Mathis, Joan Rivers, Liza Minnelli, Kay Ballard, Lee Greenwood and a host of other entertainment legends. I have talked to a few of them today who are all saying that Breck is already in heaven casting his next show!

Breck was part of the Callback News family and was their featured Entertainment Writer for many years. As I mentioned in my very first column, it is a sense of honor that Breck passed the torch to me to continue his entertainment reporting legacy. I have some big shoes to fill, but will remember him every week when I sit down to write this column. I will also cherish all the backstage memories that he took me to while he was still writing. To my good friend and mentor – Breck you were one of a kind and will truly be missed.
