RISING STAR DERMOT KENNEDY WILL VISIT THE PEARL AT PALMS

            Dermot Kennedy, who in two short years has gone from performing his first U.S. club show at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn, N.Y., to his debut at  Radio City Music Hall, will make a tour stop at The Pearl at Palms on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020, at 8 p.m. Ticket range is $35 to $79.95.

            Kennedy’s debut album, “Without Fear,” is being released this week. The global wonder made his U.S. television debut on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” and followed with an appearance on “The Ellen Show,” where he performed “Power Over Me,” which has reached No. 1 in the airplay charts in France, Germany and Belgium and achieved Double Platinum in Ireland, Platinum in the Netherlands and Switzerland and Gold in Canada.

 

DONNY & MARIE HONORED WITH SHARED STAR

              Donny and Marie Osmond were honored by the Las Vegas Walk of Stars with a shared star in an unveiling ceremony at the entrance outside the Flamingo where the siblings have headlined together for more than 11 years. They will take their final bow at Flamingo on Nov. 16.

 

TOASTED GASTROBRUNCH DEBUTS IN LAS VEGAS

            Toasted, Las Vegas’ first Gastrobrunch concept featuring restaurateur Sami Ladeki’s creative and playfully decadent breakfast and lunch cuisine, opened last week at 9516 W. Flamingo Road off Highway I-215 freeway. Hours are daily 7 a.m.–3 p.m. with breakfast and brunch service.

            Breakfast cocktails, Bloody Marys and flaming coffees complement staples such as Red Velvet Pancakes, Shrimp & Grits, and innovative versions of Egg Benedicts and French Toasts like the Short Rib Benny and Elvis French Toast. The menu is very creative and entertaining to read with eye-catching names like Eggs in Purgatory and Duck Confit Toast. Most dishes cost between $11 and $16.

            Ladeki also owns Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza & Grill locations, which is apparent if you get a to go bag, which has both restaurants’ logos. Portions are very generous so you may need a container.

 

DUELING AXES WILL JOIN AREA15’S INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES

            Dueling Axes, the premiere indoor axe-throwing lounge native to Columbus, Ohio, is the latest interactive attraction to announce it will join AREA15’s experiential retail and entertainment complex currently under construction and opening next year. Becoming Dueling Axes’ second location, the 6,3000-square-foot outlet will encompass nearly triple the space and number of throwing lanes than its Columbus counterpart. The attraction will feature 18 throwing lanes for up to six participants each; four lanes will be dedicated to the VIP and private party room accommodating groups of up to 25 guests.


            The Dueling Axes’ lounge will include a beer and wine bar, and guests will be encouraged to bring their favorite takeout from any of AREA15’s eateries into the venue.

            Dueling Axes joins AREA15’s recently announced growing collection of attractions including Nomadic, Emporium, Meow Wolf Las Vegas, and Oddwood cocktail and coffee bar.

 

FLEETWOOD MAC’S FINAL WORLD TOUR SHOW WILL BE AT T-MOBILE

     Grammy Award-winning band Fleetwood Mac announced the final show for their 2018/2019 sold out world tour, which kicked off last October with 80+ concert events across eight countries, will be on Saturday, Nov. 16 at T-Mobile Arena. Tickets start at $99.

            Fleetwood Mac was founded by Peter Green in 1967 and named after Mick Fleetwood and John McVie. After Green left in 1969, Fleetwood and McVie remained as original members. Christine McVie joined the band in 1970, while Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham came aboard in 1974. Fleetwood Mac has sold more than 100 million records worldwide and the Grammy Award-winning band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998. The tour features the newly minted lineup of Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie and newcomers Mike Campbell and Neil Finn.

 

EARTHQUAKE VISITS THE LAUGH FACTORY

            Comedian, actor and voice artist Earthquake has a six-week residency at the 320-seat Laugh Factory on the mezzanine level of the Tropicana with shows Thursday-Saturday at 7 p.m. from Oct. 10-Nov. 23 (dark Nov. 7-9). Tickets start at $49.95 for general admission.

             Earthquake earned fans via programming platforms fueled by BET, Comedy Central, Showtime, and HBO’s coveted 30-minute comedy special series, “One Night Stand,” plus more. The new resident comedian is mostly known as the beloved Uncle Mike from the hit sitcom, “Everybody Hates Chris.” Recently, he made a guest appearance on Bounce Network’s, “In the Cut,” and the Wanda Sykes produced “Face Value” airing on BET Network.

                His film credits include animated favorite “Barnyard,” “Something Like a Business” with Kevin Hart, “Getting Played” with Vivica Fox, Ice Cube’s “The Longshots,” and the Kevin Smith cult classic “Clerks II.”

 

RTC BIKE SHARE CELEBRATES THIRD ANNIVERSARY ALL MONTH

            The Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada (RTC) is celebrating three years of bike share service in downtown Las Vegas with a special $3 three-day pass, which is normally $10, and exclusive deals from downtown establishments through Oct. 31. There are 21 stations and 200 bikes available, including the recent addition of 20 electric pedal-assist bikes.

            There are specials by showing an RTC Bike Share card or trip receipt at any of these locations: PublicUs 15 percent off any purchase; Starbucks across from City Hall $3 tall pumpkin cream cold brew; ReBar free drink with any sausage purchase; The Kitchen at Atomic 15 percent off any small bites item; and Thunderbird Saloon $5 off any pizza.

ROD STEWART SERENADES BRITISH WEDDING COUPLE

            Wedding bells rang for British couple, Sharon Cook and Andrew Aitchison, who were left stranded in Liverpool, England, just days before they were set to tie the knot at Caesars Palace. The couple and their 14 guests were victims of Thomas Cook’s abrupt bankruptcy when Caesars Palace and Delta Air Lines stepped in to throw them their wedding. The couple exchanged vows at the hotel’s picturesque Venus Garden Chapel surrounded by friends and family. As the ceremony concluded, a surprise wedding crasher was The Colosseum’s resident headliner Rod Stewart who performed a special acoustic version of “Have I Told You Lately” backed by three string musicians. Stewart then personally invited the entire wedding party to his Colosseum show, “Rod Stewart: The Hits.”

              Legendary rock star Stewart will return to Las Vegas in 2020 for 16 shows of his residency “Rod Stewart: The Hits,” with select dates in March and September, and ending on Oct. 3. Tickets for his 7:30 p.m. performances start at $49.

            “Blanc De Blanc” at the Sahara has moved its 7 p.m. showtime to 8 p.m. 

            American icon Willie Nelson will headline a limited engagement, “Vegas On My Mind,” at The Venetian® Resort, Oct. 18-26. With a six-decade career and 200-plus albums, the Texan is the creative genius behind recordings of “Crazy,” “Red Headed Stranger,” and “Stardust.”  

            With endless entertainment options, it is an honor “USA Today” readers ranked “Legends In Concert,” the city’s longest-running production show, at the Tropicana #1 music show in Las Vegas by 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. Through Nov. 19, Frank Marino is hosting the multi-award-winning show as comedy legend Joan Rivers and shares the stage with tribute artists for Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga, Pat Benatar and Elvis.

            Returning for its third year on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 18-19 at the Downtown Las Vegas Events Center, Las Rageous will feature performances from Rob Zombie, Bring Me The Horizon, Chevelle, The Used, I Prevail, Dance Gavin Dance, and more across two stages. This year will also feature brand new onsite experiences, including the Bud Light Rock & Refuel Culinary Experience and the On-Site Wedding Chapel.

            Comedian Jackie Fabulous seen on this season’s “America’s Got Talent!” will be headlining at the Laugh Factory at the Tropicana Oct. 17-20 at 8:30 and 10:30 p.m. with featured act Rocky Dale Davis and host Krisi McHugh.

            “First Ladies of Las Vegas Entertainment” starring local regular Kelly Clinton and Elisa Fiorillo, who shared the stage with Prince, will headline the Italian American Club Showroom on Oct. 20 at 8 p.m. following a six-month residency at Alexis Park. Longtime friends, they delight audiences with live music, song, comedy, laughs and surprises. The ladies are joined by the comedy stylings of Dennis Blair who opened for George Carlin for 20 years. Tickets are $25 and $35.

 

SOUTH POINT SHOWROOM PROVIDES VARIETY

            Headliners in the showroom at South Point in October offer variety with tickets starting at $20, $25 and $30 respectively. Showman Frankie Moreno, who made his debut at age 10 on CBS’ “Star Search,” performs on Thursdays Oct. 10 and 24. Forty-year veteran band Rocky and the Rollers, best known as the touring band for Bowzer’s Rock and Roll Party, will perform its Doo Wop N’ Rock show Oct. 11-13. Comedian Christopher Titus follows Oct. 18-20. Donny Edwards with his “The Next Best Thing to the King” show will honor Elvis’ music Oct. 25-27.

 

ORLEANS SHOWROOM HOSTS ‘THE BRIDGE’ BENEFIT CONCERT

        “The Bridge – An Orchestral Benefit Concert” will be held in the Orleans Showroom on Sunday, Oct. 13 at 6 p.m. Various entertainers will perform, including “Frankie Scinta – The Showman,” Ariana Martinez singing the music of Gloria Estefan, The Vegas Good Fellas, celebrated Earth, Wind & Fire tribute group Serpentine Fire, and a 32-piece orchestra conducted by Mariano Longo. Tickets start at $35 with proceeds benefitting the Trauma Intervention Program (TIP) of Southern Nevada, Inc. and Nevada Health Centers.

 

SCARE AT TOWN SQUARE OPENS

            The Halloween spirit has already begun with Scare at Town Square opening daily at 7 p.m. and running through Nov. 10. The immersive pop-up experience features more than 15,000 square feet of attractions from mild to wild to explore including a haunted maze, phobia rooms, wicked selfie sets, a horror film escape experience, live entertainment, special events and a speakeasy serving custom cocktails. LAS VEGAS FASHION COUNCIL HOSTS FIFTH ANNUAL ARTLIVE!

            The Las Vegas Fashion Council’ (LVFC) will hold its fifth annual artLIVE! fundraiser on Saturday, Oct. 19 from 6-9 p.m. at Zappos Headquarters downtown. Top Las Vegas artists, designers and students will debut one-of-a-kind designs and feature live activations with entertainment and refreshments alongside a silent auction with proceeds benefitting the LVFC’s scholarship fund. Tickets are $100 with an early bird special $75 price until Oct. 11. Tickets are available on the LVFC’s website or at the door.

 

MAGICIAN MAT FRANCO HOSTS ANNUAL PET SUPPLY DRIVE

            For the fourth year in a row, magician Mat Franco is teaming up with Sunny 106.5 to host a pet supply drive benefitting The Animal Foundation, Nevada’s largest open admission shelter.             The Family, Fur and Fun Festival for rescued animals is a free event being held Saturday, Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Exploration Park in the Mountain’s Edge Master Planned Community. Festivities include educational and interactive booths, disc demonstrations by K9 Krew, pet adoption and fostering opportunities, arts and crafts, raffle with great prizes, music, and food and refreshments.             The annual epicurean affair Flavors for Life, which promotes heart-healthy dishes and healthier choices, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 7-10 p.m. in Bldg. B -16th floor of the World Market Center. Tickets are $75, and cookbook $10.

            Terrible’s Food Fest will feature more than 70 beers and wines inside Terrible’s Hotel & Casino in Jean, Nev., on Saturday, Oct. 12 from 4-8 p.m. with live music and a DJ. Tickets are $20.

            Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steakhouse will host a Staglin Family Vineyard Wine Dinner featuring an exclusive five-course menu accompanied with assortment of Staglin Family varietals on Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $225. 

            Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will celebrate Halloween and Dia de los Muertos by offering a handcrafted spooky cocktail starting Friday, Oct. 18. The “Once Bitten” cocktail will be served in a skull-shaped souvenir glass for $13. For an additional $2, guests can order and keep any cocktail served in the skull-shaped souvenir glass.

            During hockey season, Pancho’s Mexican Restaurant in Downtown Summerlin is broadcasting all games and offering long happy hours daily in the cantina and tequila specials.

            In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Pinkbox Doughnuts® created a specialty doughnut offered the month of October with a portion of proceeds donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The “Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon” is made with a ribbon shaped raised doughnut, pink frosting and sprinkles and offered at three locations. Individual doughnuts are $3.

 

ABOUT TOWN

            The Neon Museum Boneyard and “Brilliant!” are currently closed through Monday, Oct. 14 for the installation of “Lost Vegas: Time Burton @ The Neon Museum Presented By The Engelstad Foundation,” which will open Tuesday, Oct. 15.

            Goat Yoga at sunset will be held at The Green at Silverton on Monday, Oct. 21 at 5:30 p.m. The $30 admission includes a one-hour class, swag bag, and playtime with baby goats.

             The Silverton will host the LV Craft Show in the Veil Pavilion on Sunday, Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is free with more than 50 vendors in attendance.

            On Tuesday, Oct. 22, it will be Crafter’s Night: Paint and Wine in the Silverton’s Shady Grove Lounge at 7 p.m. with a special “October Birch Trees” canvas painting. Cost is $25 with supplies and first drink provided.

            History Channel’s show “Pawn Stars” filmed at the National Atomic Testing Museum for an episode about a meteorite that came into the shop. Owner Rick Harrison will be discussing secret inventions throughout history, and the episode will be part of their new season line up beginning Oct. 28.

            With “Evil Dead The Musical HD” taking over The Space all month, Mondays Dark will instead on Oct. 21 be held at the Music Hall at House of Blues at Mandalay Bay with a full show featuring the music of the hit Netflix show, “Stranger Things.” Attendees are invited to wear their finest ’80s gear and party at the Sno-Ball for the night while supporting Freedom House Sober Living. Tickets are $20.

            Local taverns Remedy’s St. Rose on Oct. 9 and Distill Summerlin on Oct. 16 will hold VegasStrong Blood Drives from 2-8 p.m. on both Wednesdays. For every donation, each location will provide a “Pint for a Pint” certificate for a free beer at another date.
