SUPERSTAR J BALVIN’S TOUR WILL STOP AT THE PALMS

         Reggaeton’s leading global ambassador J Balvin has announced his fall North American tour “Arcoiris” will include a stop at The Pearl Concert Theater at the Palms on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 8 p.m. His opening acts will be two fast-rising young Puerto Rican music stars Lyanno and Eladio Carrión. Tickets start at $59.95 and go on sale May 17.

 

         Balvin made back-to-back weekend performances recently on the main stage at Coachella and will make history this summer as the first Latin artist to headline the famous Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago Aug. 1-4 in Grant Park. In addition, Balvin
will return to “The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon” with a special interview and performance appearance on May 20. Fans can also catch him as a resident performer inside KAOS at the Palms.

Duran duran RETURNS TO THE CHELSEA AT the Cosmopolitan

        Following two sold-out performances earlier this year, British music icons Duran Duran will return to The Chelsea at The Cosmopolitan for a two-night engagement on Saturday-Sunday, Sept. 7-8. Tickets go on sale Friday, May 17.

            The band was formed in Birmingham, England, in the early eighties. Four decades later, Duran Duran has sold more than 100 million records, had 18 American hit singles and 20 UK chart toppers. The group is wrapping up a successful three-year tour, in support of their 14th studio album. The band is back in the studio working on the follow up to their critically acclaimed album “Paper Gods.” 

TERRY BRADSHAW WILL VISIT THE LUXOR

            Legendary NFL football player and charismatic entertainer Terry Bradshaw will return to Las Vegas with “The Terry Bradshaw Show” at the Luxor in the Atrium Showroom Aug. 1–4 at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $65.99 and go on sale May 15. Bradshaw’s 70-minute production chronicles his life’s journey through comedy, music and storytelling. Tickets start at $65.99 and go on sale May 15.

            Bradshaw will be joined on stage by bombshell headline vocalists Lorena Peril and Anne Martinez from the resort’s resident show “Fantasy.” 

            Bradshaw will showcase the same straight-shooting, self-deprecating humor which has made him an all-time favorite as an Emmy Award-winning co-host and analyst on FOX NFL Sunday; as well as a popular talk show guest on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” “Ellen” and many others.

 

CHATEAU AT PARIS HOSTS ‘DRAG SHOW DAY CLUB’

            “Drag Show Day Club” hosted by top celebrity female impersonators will be held twice at Chateau Nightclub & Rooftop at Paris on Saturdays, May 18 and 25 from noon to 4 p.m. The parties will showcase entertainers with flamboyant tributes to Lady Gaga, Cardi B, Mariah Carey, Tina Turner, Whitney Houston and more, in addition to DJs playing party mixes and VIP bottle service packages being available. General admission tickets are $30.

 

GOLDEN NUGGET PRESENTS HONKY TONK AT THE TANK

            The Golden Nugget will debut its all-new monthly summer pool party, Honky Tonk at The Tank, with local country rockers The Rhyolite Sound for a limited residency. Including live music and drink specials, this monthly outdoor bash is a new Downtown fun spot the first Friday of every month, June through September, except for Thursday, July 4, starting at 9 p.m.

        The Golden Nugget’s pool area is home to a 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium called The Tank.

 

STONE TEMPLE PILOTS - RIVAL SONS CO-HEADLINE HARD ROCK

            Two rock music forces, Stone Temple Pilots and Rival Sons will bring their first ever co-headlining tour to The Joint at Hard Rock on Sunday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. The tour will include full sets from each band. Tickets start at $59.99.

            Stone Temple Pilots roared onto the scene in 1992 with their raucous debut, “Core.” They have since sold more than 70 million albums. The band released their seventh studio album, “Stone Temple Pilots” in 2018 with their first new lead singer, Jeff Gutt. The debut single “Meadow” from the self-titled album, channels the group’s gritty guitars and swaggering rhythms and reached top 5 at rock radio.
            Rival Sons are currently celebrating the recent release of their acclaimed Low Country Sound / Atlantic Records debut LP, “Feral Roots,” which features the No. 1 Rock Radio hit “Do Your Worst.” 

 

MAGIC! WILL PERFORM AT TOPGOLF

            Popular reggae, pop and R&B group MAGIC! will appear in The Toyota Yard at Topgolf on Saturday, June 29 at 8 p.m. This is an all-ages show. Tickets start at $20 and all seating is general admission.


            MAGIC! is a Toronto-bred, Los Angeles-based quartet whose reggae-pop tune of the summer “Rude,” held the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 for six weeks, charted in 41 countries, sold more than 10 million singles, and racked up more than 500 million streams. Over the past five years, the band has released three studio albums, toured with Maroon 5 and headlined shows all over the world.   

 

VENETIAN KICKS OFF ‘YEAR OF CELEBRATIONS’

            According to MMGY Portrait of American Traveler study, 54 percent of travelers in 2017 took a vacation in honor of a special occasion, including birthdays, anniversaries, family reunions, weddings, graduations, bachelor/bachelorette party, or retirement.  

            According to AARP, 13 percent of the domestic trips planned for 2019 for Baby Boomer travelers are considered celebration-related or reunion-related vacations.

 

THE D CELEBRATED AMERICAN CONEY ISLAND’S 102ND BIRTHDAY

            Hundreds of customers gathered at American Coney Island at the D to celebrate the 102nd birthday of the family-owned restaurant in Detroit, Mich., on Thursday, May 9.  From 11 a.m. to noon, the D served 1,108 five cent Coney Dogs, which was the original price when the restaurant opened in 1917.

            The D is the only American Coney Island location outside of Michigan. The beloved dish grew in popularity from the specially seasoned, natural skin casing hot dog from Dearborn Sausage and its secret family “Coney Island Chili Sauce” recipe, which comes topped with mustard and sweet chopped onions.

HEALTH, HEALING & HAPPINESS EXPO IS TOP WELLNESS EVENT

            The 8th annual Health, Healing & Happiness Expo, the largest event in Nevada for nutrition and natural solutions for the whole body, mind and spirit, will be held June 1-2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Enclave Las Vegas. The two-day holistic world expo will feature 50-plus presentations on three stages, 100-plus exhibitors and chef demos. New this year for the revamped experience is the Vegan Taste Experience. The Expo Only Pass is $25 and entitles participants access to all exhibits, the Vegan Taste Experience with 16-plus food vendors and samples, and vendor stage presentations and chef demos.

            Different this year, the Healthy Inspirations Speakers Program has been reimaged like a TEDx Talk Series featuring 18 experts speaking on nutritional science, energy healing, scientific innovations and sustainable living. Cost for the speakers’ program starts at $59 for a day pass and includes the expo.

 

JAZZ IN THE PARK RETURNS

         Clark County Parks and Recreation’s 30th annual Jazz in the Park Concert Series will feature Tito Puente Jr. - May 18; Raul Midon - May 25; Althea Rene, Selina Albright & Kayla Waterson - June 1; and Paul Taylor - June 15. Seating with picnic baskets, blankets and low-back chairs begins at 5 p.m. with performances as early as 6:30 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center Amphitheater, 500 S. Grand Central Parkway. Admission and parking are free. Food and drinks will be available on site.

 

THE STYLISTICS PERFORM AT M RESORT

            M Resort welcomes Philadelphia soul group The Stylistics to the M Pavilion for a performance on Saturday, May 25 at 8 p.m. Known for their chart-topping hits, the group had 12 consecutive Top 10 singles including “You’re a Big Girl Now,” “You Are Everything,” “I'm Stone in Love with You,” and “You Make Me Feel Brand New.” The Stylistics, who got their start in 1966 after merging two Philadelphia soul groups, The Percussions and The Monarchs, will take the stage for a full-length concert as part of the resort’s Memorial Day Weekend celebration. Tickets start at $15.

 

DOWNTOWN GRAND HOSTS FREE POOL MUSIC FESTIVAL

            The Punk Rock Bowling & Music Festival and Downtown Grand have joined forces to create this year’s free pool party concert series. For the first-time ever, Citrus Grand Pool Deck will be the host venue for the annual series of free poolside concerts.  

            Headliners will include H20, The Pietasters, and Sloppy Seconds over Memorial Day Weekend May 25-27. Free entry for hotel guests begins at 9 a.m. and non-hotel visitors at 11 a.m., ages 18 and over. Bands play from noon-2 p.m. each day with DJs starting at 11 a.m.

 

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND CELEBRATIONS

            On Saturday, May 25 the Lon Bronson Band will perform two completely different shows at Cabaret Jazz at The Smith Center at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Guest stars include Bruce Williamson Jr, Tony Davich, Nina DiGregorio, Michelle Johnson, Michelle Rohl, and Brody Dolyniuk just to name a few. Ticket prices are $19 to $37.

            The second Lake Las Vegas Sports Club Holiday Play Day will be an all-day celebration at Lake Las Vegas on Saturday, May 25 beginning at 8 a.m. Festivities will start with a Lennar pancake breakfast, followed by a pet parade at 10 a.m. to benefit the local K9 departments, and a Blue Heron pool party and Woodside barbecue at noon.

            Cabo Wabo Cantina inside Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood will celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with drink specials, signature dishes and live entertainment on its Strip-side patio Friday-Monday, May 24-27. Patio parties, complete with a DJ, will be hosted from noon until the late-night hours on May 25 and 26 on the outdoor Strip-side patio.

         Memorial Day Weekend will bring one more day of Beer Park’s high-energy weekend electric brunch with DJ Sinclair Wheeler on Monday, May 27. The second story rooftop bar and grill at Paris will offer brunch from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Memorial Day with reimagined cocktails and bottomless mimosas. Some brunch selections will include French toast sticks, smoked brisket hash with crispy potatoes, and a hangover breakfast sandwich.

            Rock legend Jon Bon Jovi last week visited The Palm at The Forum Shops at Caesars for lunch with his son and they signed their names below their recently added caricatures on the restaurant’s wall.

                        Professional racecar driver and former 2008 Playboy Playmate Doreen Seidel is the first female to win a race in the EXR Series founded in 2016 and held recently at the 1.5-mile Exotics Racing racetrack located at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Seidel has more than 10 years of experience. The next EXR race is scheduled for June 1.

            Discovery Children’s Museum’s Royal Tea annual fundraiser being held at the Waldorf Astoria on Sunday, May 19 is sold out. In partnership with Las Vegas businesses, the 2018 event raised more than $60,000 for the museum’s exhibits, art programs and more. 

            Earlier this month, Rhonda from California won $954,263.11 while playing a Wheel of Fortune machine at South Point.
