DUA LIPA’S ‘FUTURE NOSTALGIA TOUR’ WILL VISIT T-MOBILE ARENA

 

        Global pop superstar Dua Lipa will make a Vegas stop at T-Mobile Arena on Friday, March 25 as part of her U.S. 28-stop on her “Future Nostalgia Tour” in support of her Grammy-winning album of the same name. The 2022 tour will also feature Caroline Polachek and Lolo Zouaï. Tickets start at $45.

                Lipa says she wrote “Future Nostalgia” imaging the songs being played in clubs. “Future Nostalgia” is the longest running top 10 album by a female artist on the Billboard 200 this year and was the No.1 most streamed album of 2020 on Spotify. After receiving six nominations at the 2021 Grammys, including Record, Song and Album of the Year, she is now a three-time Grammy winner having received awards for Best Pop Vocal Album this year and for Best New Artist and Best Dance Recording in 2019.

        Lipa is a dominate force on streaming platforms, topping Spotify’s artist chart as the most streamed female artist on the platform and is currently the fourth biggest artist overall with more than 65 million monthly listeners. “Future Nostalgia” now has more than 7 billion streams across all platforms worldwide.

 

DONNY OSMOND ADDS 2022 DATES TO HIS NEW HARRAH’S RESIDENCY

 

 Legendary entertainer Donny Osmond has added new dates through 2022 to his first-ever solo residency inside Harrah’s Showroom at Harrah’s on the Strip. Performances are nightly Tuesday to Saturday with shows beginning at 8 p.m.

                Sold-out crowds have welcomed Osmond back to Las Vegas, this time with his all-new solo residency. Fans are treated to a party as Osmond performs hits like “Puppy Love,” “Soldier of Love” and latest single “Who.” He shares stories of his greatest show stopping memories through an “Auto-rap-ography” – a rap song accompanied by photos and videos of his impressive career milestones. He also introduces brand new songs and interacts with the crowd in a completely reimagined song-and-dance celebration. 

                Throughout his illustrious career, Osmond has earned 33 gold records, selling more than 100 million albums. Currently, his milestone 65th release, “Start Again,” debuted worldwide on Sept. 10, 2021. The album title was directly inspired by Osmond’s own unique career journey of constant reinvention over the past six decades. Additionally, Osmond headlines his first solo residency at Harrah’s, marking a return to the Las Vegas Strip after a record-setting 11-year run at the Flamingo with his sister Marie.

 

KELLY CLINTON DEBUTS WEEKLY RESIDENCY AT THE NEVADA ROOM

 

                Charismatic singer-actress-comedienne Kelly Clinton began her official weekly Thursday night residency at The Nevada Room in Historic Commercial Center at 953 E. Sahara Ave. last week. Her new show, “The Sit In With Kelly Clinton,” is from 7 to 10 p.m. Dinner service is available starting at 6 p.m. Reservations are recommended by visiting vegasnevadarooms.com or calling 702-500-1813. There’s no cover charge, and parking is free.

                Her inaugural sold-out performance featured an array of local talent and an official ribbon cutting. Clinton performs throughout the show with songs and comedy sketches and features her talented friends and surprise guests throughout. She’s a kaleidoscope of talent, and a staple of the Las Vegas entertainment community. Clinton is joined on stage by musical director Mike Clark and her band.

                As part of each evening, the Nevada Room Showroom offers a complete handcrafted a la carte menu with delicious food created by executive chef and owner, David James Robinson. Also featured are specialty cocktails and an assortment of wine, beer and spirits including the latest drink The Kelly Cocktail created in honor of Clinton.  

 

ARTIST PAOLA PIVI DEBUTS FLUORESCENT BABY POLAR BEARS AT ARIA

 

                Internationally recognized multimedia artist Paola Pivi has transformed the lobby at ARIA into a wonderland of neon-colored baby polar bears, which are on display until Nov. 1. The artwork was exhibited previously at Perrotin, N.Y. The title “We are the baby gang” was created by Karma Culture Brothers. 

                Pivi’s installation features 51 vibrant baby bears that frolic, yoga pose, and even hang suspended in mid-air. The bears, flocked in fluorescent feathers, highlight Pivi’s ability to create human and animal connection in a playful manner while drawing attention to the reality of polar bears losing their natural habitat.

                Born in Milan, Pivi has taken up residency around the world from India to her current home in Anchorage, Alaska. Pivi’s work has been featured in esteemed public collections such as the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Guggenheim Museum in New York City and the Maxxi Museum in Rome.

 

HIDDEN CINEMA ROOFTOP GARDEN EXPERIENCE POPS UP DOWNTOWN

 

        This week on Sept. 17 the Hidden Cinema Rooftop Garden movie experience debuts atop an inconspicuous building at 321 S. Casino Center Blvd. downtown. The rooftop is being transformed by twinkling lights, a 30-foot-wide movie screen and seating for 150. This brand-new pop-up film-watching experience invites the community to enjoy the idyllic fall weather outside and curl up in front a movie under the stars. With onsite beer, wine and snack service available, Hidden Cinema will screen 24 cult favorites including romantic classics, legendary thrillers, Halloween hits and holiday-season favorites, with several selections appropriate for all ages through Dec. 18.

        Doors open at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at 8 p.m. Movie-goers can select from three seating types: Individual Ticket with picnic blanket - $18.50; Individual Ticket with lounge floor chair - $22.50; and Couples Ticket with a loveseat bean bag - $48.50. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. Beer, wine and snack service is not included in the ticket price. Onsite parking is available for $12.

                Hidden Cinema will support downtown by donating a portion of proceeds to helping the local homeless. Hygiene Kit donations will also be accepted at certain showings, which will be donated to Nevada Homeless Alliance.

 

RESORTS WORLD UNVEILS SELF-GUIDED ART PROGRAM TOUR

 

        Resorts World, the Strip’s newest integrated resort, is introducing a self-guided visitor tour to explore the property’s eclectic art program. Using a mobile phone, guests can scan the QR codes on a variety of art pieces throughout the resort’s public spaces to learn more about them, including details behind the creation of the art pieces, their origins and artist information. 

The resort’s diverse collection of art features works created by both renowned and local artists along with a mix of modern and historical fine-art pieces. The design team and art consultants underwent an extensive selection process to create an experiential program. From Chinese-inspired paintings on display in the Crockfords Lobby to larger-than-life sculptures and murals within the casino area, visitors will be amazed by magnificent art pieces showcased at every corner.

A couple of art highlights include Cloned Bulldog with Pet Bottle by William Sweetlove, Donuts by Jaeyong Kim, and Flowers by Andy Warhol.

 

ARIA CELEBRATES THE RAIDERS WITH CHOCOLATE AND SUGAR DISPLAY

 

                A silver, black and sweet visual delight has arrived at ARIA in time for the Las Vegas Raiders first home game with fans in attendance. Life-size pastry art creations of Raiders players, as well as replicas of Allegiant Stadium and the Las Vegas skyline, all made entirely of chocolate, sugar and fondant are on display at ARIA Patisserie throughout the football season. 

                The all-stars of the showcase are lifelike sculptures of Quarterback Derek Carr and Tight End Darren Waller who met his likeness rendered entirely from chocolate and fondant. Handcrafted by a team of 10 pastry chefs over the course of four weeks, the display required more than 40 pounds of fondant, 100 pounds of sugar and 200 pounds of chocolate.

                After viewing the display, guests can purchase special silver-and-black cakes and confections at ARIA Patisserie.

 

HAGAR LAUNCHES SAMMY’S BEACH BAR COCKTAIL CO.

 

        Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and spirits trailblazer Sammy Hagar will bring his signature beach vibe to canned ready-to-drink (RTD) cocktails with Sammy’s Beach Bar Cocktail Co. He’ll commemorate the launch of his new spirits venture in rockstar style with a short rooftop performance overlooking the Strip from the second story rooftop of Paris at Beer Park beginning at sunset 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22. 

                The line of top shelf sparkling rum cocktails will debut this month in California, Texas and Nevada, with several more states coming soon. The cocktails, made with Hagar’s award-winning Puerto Rico-made Beach Bar Rum, are available in four playful twists on classic flavors: Tangerine Dream, Pineapple Splash, Island Pop and Cherry Kola Chill. The cocktails are naturally flavored, sweetened with agave and contain no added colors for a high-quality craft spirit under 130 calories per 12-ounce can.

 

FASHION SHOW HOLDS TRICK OR CHIC WALKTHROUGH EXPERIENCE

 

                Fashion Show Las Vegas (FSLV) will welcome the return of its complimentary, family-friendly walkthrough experience, Trick or Chic, allowing guests to trick or treat throughout the month of October. Starting Friday, Oct. 1, ghosts and ghouls of fashion’s past will take over the destination every Friday and Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m., with a special addition on Sunday, Oct. 31 for the spooktacular Halloween affair located near Zara on level 2.

                Guests will be guided through a bone-chilling couture walk-through experience led by ghost story-telling tour guides. Trick or Chic will provide a frightful delight with skeleton models dressed in killer looks. The haunts will continue into The Great Hall as for the opportunity to watch an “eerie-sistible” light show to the smash Halloween hit, “Monster Mash.”

‘PARADE OF MISCHIEF’ RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN SUMMERLIN®

 

                Downtown Summerlin®, The Howard Hughes Corporation® development located in the heart of the Summerlin® master planned community, has announced the return of the Halloween “Parade of Mischief” presented by SelectHealth® and produced by BESTAgency this October, which was a fan favorite in 2019.

                The frightfully fun, family-friendly parade will fill the streets of Downtown Summerlin with mischievous mayhem every Friday and Saturday night in October (Oct. 1-2, 8-9, 15-16, 22-23, 29 and 30) starting at 7 p.m. The event is free, open to the public and takes place along Park Centre Drive.

                The parade will feature an all-star line-up of local youth including dancing zombies, ghosts, witches, wizards, wild creatures, a rockin’ dead skeleton band and more. Dynamic Productions and Dance Dynamics will present “The Addams Family a New Musical”live on The Lawn at Downtown Summerlin Oct. 28-31.All showings are free and open to the public.

 

‘LIFE IS BEAUTIFUL’ MEANS NEW MURALS

 

                Murals for the 2021 installment of the Life Is Beautiful taking place this week have popped up around Downtown. As it does each year, the festival teams up with art curators/producers to bring local, national and international artists together to leave their mark on Downtown Las Vegas’ walls. It’s part of what makes walking around Fremont East fun — it’s a walking art gallery boasting works from an array of acclaimed artists.

                The festival will also feature immersive art experiences from Meow Wolf and Weed maps, along with something called the “Astro Alley” and the return of the Bacardi Art Motel.

                One artist on display is Amy Sol, a painter and sculptor who currently lives and works in Las Vegas. She has exhibited internationally over the span of a decade, participating regularly in solo gallery exhibitions and art fairs. Her narrative works are an exploration of the beauty of nature, companionship, and human pathos.

 

NEON MUSEUM HOSTS PANEL ‘REMEMBERING THE FRONTIER STRIKE’

 

                The Neon Museum will host a panel discussion, “Remembering the Frontier Strike: 30 Years Later” on Thursday, Sept. 30 at 6:30 p.m. in-person at the museum and virtually via livestream on Facebook.

                In September 1991, one of the longest labor strikes in U.S. history began as workers with the Culinary Union and others staged a strike at the Frontier Hotel and Casino in response to cuts in benefits and compensation. In February 1998, the dispute was settled in labor’s favor after the ownership of the hotel changed. The strike lasted six years, four months, and 10 days. Panelists will reflect on the lasting impact. A bilingual exhibit about the strike will be on display in the La Concha visitor lobby for the panel discussion and remain until Jan. 28, 2022.

                Registration is required online for the free event and for the virtual livestream. A recording of the program will be available at a future date.

                CraftHaus Brewery will celebrate its seventh anniversary with a HausFest at their brewery at 7350 Eastgate Rd Suite 110 in Henderson on Saturday, Sept. 25 from 6-10 p.m.

HONEY SALT BRINGS BACK FARM TABLE DINNER SERIES

 

James Beard nominees Elizabeth Blau and Kim Canteenwalla will bring back their Farm Table Dinner series with a Cape Cod-inspired dinner in conjunction with the anniversary of their best-selling cookbook, “Honey Salt Food & Drink – A Culinary Scrapbook.”  The relaunch of the series is set for Monday, Sept. 27 at 6 p.m. at Honey Salt at 1031 S. Rampart Blvd. Tickets online are $69 per person with an optional wine pairing for an additional $25. The cookbook will also be on sale for $29.95 and both Blau and Canteenwalla will be signing.

                Derek Hough, who opens his show at The Venetian on Sept. 22, was spotted dining with girlfriend Hayley Erbert and friends at TAO last week after rehearsing for his residency.

                At TAO the same day was Brittany Cartwright Cauchi, a star on Bravo’s “Vanderpump Rules” reality show, was hosting a bachelorette dinner for a friend. After dinner, the group moved to a VIP table in the club to take in the sounds of DJ Konstantina Gianni. Cartwright was also spotted attending the “Atomic Saloon Show” at the Grand Canal Shoppes inside The Venetian.

                Last weekend, American rapper, producer and double platinum recording artist Too Short visited Asian hotspot JING Las Vegas at Downtown Summerlin® for dinner and then went to AREA15 for a private event for Raiders Alum Marshawn Lynch. The rap star’s touring will include the Lovers & Friends R&B and Hip-Hop Festival slated for May 14, 2022, at the Las Vegas Festival Grounds.
