Auditions

Butcher Block Productions is proud to announce auditions for "The America Play"

Auditions will be held Monday, February 8th from 630pm-930pm at the new Las Vegas Little Theatre Studio
(3890 Schiff Dr.) The LVLT studio is a few doors to the right of the Mainstage/Blackbox space (as you're facing the theatre).

A monologue that displays your handling of language is preferred but not required. Be prepared to read sides from other Suzan-Lori Parks plays.

Performances will be March 25-27 and April 1-3

Characters:
The Foundling Father, as Abraham Lincoln: African-American, 30s to 40s, roughly the build of Abraham Lincoln
Lucy, his wife: African-American, 20s to 40s
Brazil, his son: African-American or Caucasian, 20s
A man, as John Wilkes Booth: Caucasian, late 20s to late 30s
A woman, as John Wilkes Booth: Caucasian, late 20s to late 30s

I am also in need of a stage manager, set, lighting and costume designers, and a run crew.

This show is a salute to all the girl groups with a few solos thrown in for good measure. There is a 50's segment in long gowns; a 60's segment in poodle skirts; a 70's segment in short sheath dresses; a Dixie Chicks country medley; a Pussycat Dolls segment and a finale with individual looks.

The salary is 700-800/week

TWO GENTLEMEN OF LEBOWSKI is a fun-filled experience for fans of Shakespeare, fans of the film The Big Lebowski, and for everyone in between. What would have happened if William Shakespeare wrote The Big Lebowski? That is the question. Follow "The Knave" on his journey from soaking in the commode to being soaked in ashes as we present the great Shakespearean comedy, the TWO GENTLEMEN OF LEBOWSKI.

Please prepare one (1) Shakespearean monologue of two minutes or less in length. Auditionees will also be asked to read selections from the script, so being familiar with the movie plot may prove helpful. Headshot and Resume are requested, but not required.

Looking for attractive, outgoing, physically fit females 21 years of age and above. Golf knowledge preferred but not required.

We are looking for 15 male ethnic/urban dancers. Performance is for a charity event hosted by Las Vegas School of Dance & Music called "Breaking Boundaries." Dancers should have experience or be trained in hip hop, any ethnic dance like african, latin, polynesian, etc. as well as some breakdancing, jazz, and modern. This event is for charity, but the pay will be $100 flat rate as well as we are offering each dancer a press kit to include a headshot, video footage of the performance, a video resume, and bio. The show will be on Saturday April 3rd at 4pm and rehearsals will be twice a week, 3 hours each rehearsal, starting February 22nd - April 2nd. This is a good introduction to our production company as we will be holding a few more auditions and castings within the next couple of months. Please come dressed to dance. Arrive 15-20 minutes early to register. We will provide costumes and food for the show in addition to your pay and press kit.
