I am looking for actors for a table read at the new Insurgo Theater located in the PLaza Hotel and Casino on Feb 4th, 2012. Please state in the notice that since this is a table read, that the ages of the characters are not needed to be accurate. This play has been produced 3 times including twice in Los Angeles, CA.

CAFÉ HOLLYWOOD CAST LIST

PRINCIPLES:

DELILAH 60’s A wannabe actress turned business woman. She has false stories of

her acting attempts in both New York and Hollywood.

CARRIE: A sensitive but street smart heroin-addicted prostitute who fantasizes

leaving the streets and becoming a Hollywood star like Marilyn Monroe.

Must look under 20 years old.

GENE: A charming, poetic bum who in reality is a hired killer. Must be able to

believably conceal his real intent. He is physically appealing but not overly

handsome. Between mid-thirties to early forties.

CLAUDE SORENSON: A has-been burnt out screenwriter who longs for just one

more good story. He is an alcoholic and a mentor to Carrie.

SUPPORTING ROLES:

SIDEWALK SALLY: A bag lady who came to Hollywood to be a star. There

are still remnants of looks that might have been star material many years ago.

Sally is 60’s or 70’s and is totally spaced out.

BART: A small time, loud mouthed variety agent. He’s mad at the world because

he didn’t become another William Morris or Michael Ovitz. 50’s to 60’s

SILKY LARUE: A flamboyant gay street street hustler who thinks of himself

as the next mega star song writer. Late 20’s to early 30’s

SMALLER PARTS

BARLOW: A low budget film producer/director. 40’s or 50’s

CANDY; Barlow’s current bimbo girlfriend. Loveable but dumb. She thinks

she’s the star of his movie. Must have good comedy skills. Late 20’s to 30’s

Brian Johnson character is required for Las Vegas AC/DC Production Show “Highvoltage” The production show is split with Bon Scott character
